Liberate Your Art with The Kat Eye View
Kat over at The Kat Eye View of the World is organizing what she is hoping to be a massive art postcard swap. The mediums can be almost anything as long as you can put it on a post card. Photography, painting, poetry, typography, jewelry, sculpture, knitting, cooking, illustration - you name it.
Her goal is to get at least 200 people from around the world participating. So if you want to share some of your art and get a chance to experience the art of people from around the world I think is a great event to take part in. One of the things I enjoy most about the blogging world is the friends and people I have been able to meet that I simply would never have come into contact with otherwise and how I have become to see a number of those people as friends. Check out the details on Kat's blog here.
21 Secrets
I am taking the online course 21 Secrets over at the Dirty Footprints Studio. It is a simply amazing art journaling course. I would highly recommend anyone interested in art journaling check it out. Below is the first page I finished in my journal using what I learned from Jane Davenport's "Draw Happy" course. I have to say that Jane is incredibly inspiring and I really learned a lot of her workshop.
Let Your Light Shine
This mixed media painting was inspired by the quote below. I have heard this quote in slight variations attributed to a number of different people but as far as I know this version is from Nelson Mandella.
A Voice
Art, Heart and Healing
I have been taking Tamara Laporte's Art, Heart and Healing course over at willowing.org. This is a free class she is hosting and it is fantastic. I would highly recommend it to anyone. The above painting is the finished version of my artwork from the first class. It isn't perfect, her eyes are too big and too close together and I would have like her face to be lighter but for my first try at painting a portrait I am pretty happy with the results.

- After years of being self protected I am learning to be present and share myself with the world. Part of this journey is to explore new ways of looking at the world and I am using art and photography to help me along my journey.
